I don't have a copy of my award letter, can I send a copy of my bill instead?
No.  We must have a copy of your school's financial aid award that shows your award for the entire academic year before we can send the grant check to your school.

My school emails our grades to us; can I print out these grades and send them to you?
Yes.  We will accept a copy of the email grades.  Make sure your name and social security number are on your grade report.

Can I receive the I Know I Can Grant if I drop below full-time status for a term? Can I receive the I Know I Can Grant if I plan to attend college on a part-time basis for the year?
No.  Students are not eligible to receive the I Know I Can Grant for any term in which the student is enrolled less than full-time.  Please check with your institution for their definition of "full-time".  You may apply for I Know I Can Grants for the next year, however, if you plan on starting to attend full-time.

What do I need to do if I change schools?
Contact the financial aid office at your current school to notify them to:
    1.  Send a Financial Aid Transcript (FAT) to your new school.
    2.  Cancel future awards for you at that institution.
    3.  Call I Know I Can at 233.9510 to let us know your plan to change institutions.
    4.  Send I Know I Can a financial award letter from the post-secondary institution the student will attend.  This may be obtained from the institution's financial aid office.

If I transfer schools, will my I Know I Can Grant automatically transfer to my new school?
No. Receipt of a grant at one institution does not guarantee receipt of a grant at another institution.  When a student changes institutions their budget usually changes; therefore, the award package usually changes too.
To be considered for an I Know I Can Grant at the new school, the student must demostrate that they have applied for all other sources of financial aid, that they have still filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the new school must be listed on the SAR by the school's priority deadline.

All grant recipients will get $1,200 for one academic year.

Can I use my I Know I Can Grant to pay for books and supplies?
Yes.

Does the I Know I Can Grant check come to the school or to me?
All I Know I Can Grant checks are sent directly to the post-secondary institution and will be disbursed by term.  So if you attend a semester school, then your award will be sent in two payments.  If you attend a quarter or trimester school, then your award will be sent in three payments.
